The biggest cause of failed government policy comes from acting on the basis that things are one way when they are really the other. For example, it might be asked, how many jobs did the government create this month? Americans, even smart ones are acting on the basis that our government can create jobs and expecting it to do so. Well, the government cannot create jobs.
