Money spent in the public sector, through government, generates very little utility to taxpayers. Taxpayers don’t necessarily know this. Is perceived value, real value? How much satisfaction do rank and file citizens get from government spending? The danger to Obama and the leader in congress is that citizens will discover their lives are unaffected by spending cuts. How do leaders in government, gain more power and influence? By spending, of course. The hysteria over the sequester is from the fear of a loss of power by leaders that is the result of a decrease in spending.
