Government’s Supernatural Powers

Does government have supernatural powers? Only in the subconscious mind of voters does government have supernatural powers. Ask any voter if government has supernatural powers and the answer will be no. However, in terms of demonstrative action constituents act as if it does and expect lawmakers to assign impossible tasks to government.
Since 2008 monetary and fiscal policies have been devised to stimulate the economy. In all of history there has never been a case where a government has intervened in an economy with the result being economic growth. Still citizens have faith in such things.
For the simplest reasons economic stimulation has never worked and never will. The biggest reason is that any stimulation attempt causes the country’s resources to be less efficiently allocated than would be the case if intervention did not occur.
