I closed the James Quillian facebook page today. After giving it a great deal of thought, I decided it was not a good use of time to keep signing in and interacting there. My impression is that, at least in the United States, the facebook phenomena is beginning to wane. Also, knowing how much social media companies are cooperating with government and others, it makes little sense for an individual to support them in that capacity. All organizations government and private, which are in the herd management business are dangerous to the country.
So, goodbye facebook.
