Work is a second choice to living off of others. That little truth is rejected by mainstream economics dogma. So many of these little truths are ignored in mainstream economics, that the discipline itself is completely handicapped.

So, what is the main role government plays in our lives? It provides a formal mechanism for using all resources available in attempting and succeeding at living off the efforts of others. So, who actually ends up living off the efforts of others?

It is the most politically powerful people in the world. Politicians in both parties constantly allude to all kinds of lofty principles. They practically bleed sympathy for the poor, the excluded and the disadvantaged. Each elected leader constantly validates the sensibilities of anyone on whom votes are needed. However, the benefits derived from government go to the politically powerful.  This is all in an atmosphere of kindness and caring but benefits are not rationed out according to who needs them.

Over time, anything resembling a free market system has been replaced, by a system where citizens look to government as a way of getting things. Since the spoils go to those with the most political power, over time money and wealth, like cream becomes concentrated at the top. Over time the United States government has become more of a marketing mechanism than anything else. I call the system top down socialism. The classic term for this system is fascism. But fascist has has more utility as a name people call others in almost any kind of disagreement. So I go with top down socialism.

So what people are looking for in a president is more like a CEO instead of an old style president like George Washington. We now have a president going around the world acting like the CEO of the United States of America. In a country with a top down socialist type economy, it makes sense that this is the type of president people would be looking for. Voters are not looking for opportunities. They see a presidents role as providing their essence.  So, far Americans the “Art of the Deal.” is a proper role for a president.

Had Americans opted for Hillary Clinton, none of this would be any different, What would be different is who got their sensibilities validated by the president. Because in a top down socialist society, benefits go to the top.

We all must understand that prosperity under this system has a time limit. Even though we don’t know exactly what that time limit is. At some point the system will implode and there will be widespread suffering.

The truth is a hard sell. Fantasy Free Economics gains readers one at a time. Major search engines simply do not list blogs which disagree with their political agenda. As long as folks share the link to this blog and others speaking out against the grain, the truth will at least trickle into the public consciousness.erent.
