People With Halos

We are all burdened with destructive natural tendencies and inclinations. We are driven to do these things instinctively. At one time these things no doubt contributed to survival. We seek out certain people and view them as our betters, then put halos on them. In the modern world, we have our version of witch doctors. A good example is the position of Federal Reserve Board Chairman. Any examination of the Federal Reserve’s record of doing the right thing at the right time or making forecasts shows its credibility is about what would be expected from an astrologer. Where self government is concerned citizens are expected to direct the activities of elected leaders. Instead Americans are prone to worship their leaders and expect magic from them. This all comes from ancient instincts that at one time were necessary for survival.
