There is no goodwill in politics. Keep that in mind and the mystery disappears as to why things turnout the way they do in public life. Year after year the public acts as if the representatives they elect are going to act in good faith. Never in the history of the world has government worked that way. More accurately, each political party does all it can to gain loyalty while delivering as little as possible in terms of what supporters expect and ask for. Don’t expect positive change as long as constituents are anything less than ruthless in dealing with government.
