When a person is born and raised in the United States, it is easy to understand how friendly the world seems to be. I like to remind folks that the entertainment filled society we live in is the exception rather than the rule. The greatest number of people struggle just to survive. Pain and hunger are normal in the life of the average person. Most Americans are in no way responsible for the prosperity or fairness of the system we live under, just lucky to be here. High self esteem accomplishes nothing towards keeping the country prosperous. Hard times are coming soon to the United States and people will act as if we have a natural exemption to difficulties, which we don’t.
