A move to disregard the debt ceiling is a move towards totalitarian government. How is that? Citizens in general want to put a limit on how much government can borrow and spend. Proponents of totalitarianisms disagree and will deny ordinary citizens the power to decide how much is too much for government to spend. In other words citizens are free as long as they do not use their freedom to put limits on the growth of government. That friend is a giant step towards converting to a totalitarian government.
