This is a no brainer. Who will win the deflate controversy? It depends on the outcome of the game. If New England wins, the whole team will be completely exonerated. There is no way the NFL is going to rule against the winning team and give birth to an endless dialog like “They won but they had to cheat to get to the big contest to begin with.”

Now, if Seattle wins, the deflate investigation might be more honest but then we could hear “See, cheaters never win!” So, even if Seattle wins, the NFL has an incentive end the controversy. It is safest to find no fault with anyone so as to squelch the conversation.
