Both Democrats and republic interact with government as if government is a parent. Democrats say to government, “Mother, make the world a fair place for me. Make my life secure and predictable.” Republicans say to government, “Mother, I am your favorite, and I know you want met win. Rig the markets I operate in and pass laws that favor the life I want to live.” Both aggregations do this instinctively.
