Yes, I am saying deflationary period. Likely in a big way. This flies in the face of all other economists who claim deflation is purely a numerical monetary phenomenon. I wish it was. That would simplify matters for everyone. Thinking, just a little, portrays a different picture.
Yes, there is massive money in the economy. How much is in the hands of ordinary people who are expected to drive up the cost of living? Ordinary people are losing buying power. They have less to spend each and every day. How are vendors going to get rid of their inventory when those who would spend have no money?
The answer is “in the back of the book” mentality says prices are going up. Also, buyers are now manipulated to the point where they cannot be manipulated any longer. Tastes and preferences are changing. There is too much on the market people don’t want.
Prices are coming down.
