Your Punishment For Believing Lies

I have a saying. When a lie is told, there are two guilty parties. There is the liar of course. Then there is the party for whom the truth is not good enough.

Without that arrangement few lies would be told. The punishment for believing lies is suffering. Suffering always follows the believing of lies but the suffering is not distributed evenly among believers. It is possible for a person go a full lifetime
believing a slew of lies and never experience any meaningful suffering. Continue reading

You Lose

When a bill gets passed in congress, you lose. Why? You have no representation in congress. The benefits of legislation go to folks with enough power to get the attention of those you elect to represent you. Screwing you is as easy as taking candy from a baby. The outcome of the current budget negotiations will not be good for you. You have no political power, so you lose.

If you think it is an accident that the term “fiscal cliff” is repeated constantly on the news, think again. “Fiscal cliff” conveys an inaccurate vision of the consequences of cutting spending and raising taxes. This is by design with the hope that when the bad deal is decided on, you will be happy because you will think a national disaster has been averted. There is no way 100% of the media would use such a dishonest term non-stop unless they were put up to it.

Why Does Government Grow?

Government grows every time a bill is passed. Bills get passed as a way of rewarding Americans with political power. Only a few have enough political power to get what they want out of government. Bills are passed as a way to extract wealth and income out of the general population.

People without political power are important to the political process only in their imaginations. Conservative echo chambers serve the elite because all of the time and energy of conservatives is absorbed with philosophical discourse. Being of extreme importance in their own minds they are lulled into believing they are making a huge contribution by teaching others how to think.

In a democracy based system it is the citizens responsibility to govern themselves. Governing involves work and since work is a second choice for the human species, messiahs are sought instead of delegates.

Politicians are assumed to run for office because they are good people who want to serve. In terms of goodness, politicians are neutral at best. Politicians run for office as a way of making personal use of rank and file citizens, as they bargain for power, influence and money.

Don’t Blame The President

In 238 years, the American People have not once reined in government. Not once have citizens imposed any authority over the leaders they have elected.

There is no such thing as a good president. Any president will spend as much money as he possibly can. All politicians represent those who assist them in obtaining more power. Citizens should not be surprised when a president fails to live up to expectations.
