Another Silly Recession Headline

I clipped this headline off of Zerohedge this morning.

So, why is it suggested that the U.S. might be in a recession, when it obviously is to anyone with at least one eye, who is looking?  We have a growing homeless population. Banks are failing. Small banks are losing deposits. Retail stores are closing. Home prices have started falling and so on.

So, why is GDP still o.k. but just might head into a downturn? Continue reading

Debt Ceiling Crisis And More On The Stock Market

So, we have a debt ceiling crisis again. This one might prove special, given that debt is already at a highly dangerous level.. Is this really a crisis? Either  congress agrees to expand debt even more, or the United States has to default.

There is absolutely no agenda devoted to decreasing spending, not even among citizens. This is a sign that the entire country has submitted to government, its solutions …. and its prowess to guide their lives. . How can we tell? Continue reading

Coming Deflationary Period (One More Thing)

Yes, I am saying deflationary period. Likely in a big way. This flies in the face of all other economists who claim deflation is purely a numerical monetary phenomenon. I wish it was. That would simplify matters for everyone. Thinking, just a little, portrays a different picture.

Yes, there is massive money in the economy. How much is in the hands of ordinary people who are expected to drive up the cost of living? Ordinary people are losing buying power. They have less to spend each and every day. How are vendors going to get rid of their inventory when those who would spend have no money? Continue reading

As Americans Sleep

All across the fruited plain, as Rush Limbaugh called the United States, Americans have mostly gotten a good night’s sleep. As they have their morning coffee, and go about their Sunday morning rituals, few are  even concerned or aware of the sinister forces in the world working tirelessly to take  their good lives away from them.  Neither are they concerned that first amendment rights are being stolen from so many others.

Does the United States have any problems? Of course it does. That is part of life, right?  How many times have difficulties arisen, run their course, and then faded into the past? Given the time and effort it takes to get involved, speak up and make a difference, how could it possibly be worth the effort? After all, where is the personal gain? Continue reading

Here Comes Deflation

This time last year, I published the following article. This is while academics, politicians and countless others were shaking in fear…. that inflation was coming – and, here comes the Weimar Republic of the 1920s/1930s all over again.  Yes, inflation has occurred. Now it is turning back. You will be surprised at how much price levels across the globe decline.

The Case For Deflation

This morning, Zero Hedge published the following. Now, the purveyors of conventional wisdom in academia…. all over the globe….. can give themselves permission to deviate from the safe position of their peers. Continue reading

Does The U.S. Face A Recession?

I took a screen shot of the following headline.

Then I took a screenshot of the following Image.

Homeless people set up tarps and tents in downtown Los Angeles in May 2016. (Brian van der Brug/Los Angeles Times/TNS)

Mainstream economics is concerned with the first image. Fantasy Free Economics focuses on the second image.

Mainstream economics is a statistical exercise. At what point are we in a recession? Is it when statistical numbers say yes…. or, do we believe what we see with our eyes?

So, are we in a recession? How do we decide?

Missing Key To Stock Market Manipulation Identified

It sure gets lonesome living in the light of reality. Fortunately I don’t mind being lonely. In the light of reality, loneliness only applies to the state of being alone. There is no fear or emotional turbulence attached or experienced.

I have explained, partially to my satisfaction, and hopefully to a handful of others that the stock market is rigged split second by split second. .Most of that is covered in the two  article links below. Continue reading
